Our (Semi-Nerdy) Engagement Photos
I may or may not be extremely late posting these, BUT… here we are!
Having photos representing our beginning was important to me. Mike and I first started hanging out at Starbucks long before we started dating. So, we met up with my close friend, Kristen, first at Acre Coffee for my much wanted coffee shop photos. We took a walk through Downtown Petaluma to a small alley way to take some photos near stone walls, brick buildings and a wooden bridge. We ended our session on a hiking trail in Sonoma that Kristen had found near some wineries. The path was beautiful and the lighting was perfect for the golden hour shoot.
She managed to get all of our shots done 10 minutes before the rain started to fall in that area. I’m so pleased with how they came out! They were the perfect mix of standard and nerdy photos! I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer to handle my engagement photos, and my soon to be wedding photos. Kristen has such an amazing eye for capturing moments and editing them in a way that makes you feel things.
If there is one regret that I have, is that I wish I had tried more poses with Hermione’s wand. However, I fully plan to make up for those missed opportunities during our wedding portraits! The beautiful shots she got of the book and Boba Fett more than make up for that, though. I never got a chance to post about it, but that is the actual Harry Potter book that Michael put my ring in when he proposed to me. He had his sister’s help, of course, but it’s perfect and amazing! My wand did a really good job holding the book opened, too. I’m really happy that we were able to get Boba Fett, Michael’s favorite Star Wars character, to hold the ring for us!
Thank you again so much to Kristen for giving us such wonderful photos!
Funt fact: this wall and set up perfect coordinated with our outfits. It also had vintage-style bug paintings, but we opted out of having those in the background. The steps were sitting on had the carvings “I LOVE” on them. We never did find the ending of that, so we made up our own.
What my face looks like when he’s tickling me.
